Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is free to own forever on Steam for one day

Act quick, as Chivalry: Medieval Warfare [Steam] for today only is free to add to your Steam account.

It's part of an advertising campaign for their new game, which sadly won't be seeing Linux support. Still, it's a nice way to get support for a new game, by letting people grab the old one completely free for a limited time.

To be clear, if you don't own it already and install it today it's yours forever.

About the game
Besiege castles and raid villages in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person slasher with a focus on multi-player. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

The game is skill-based and controls like an FPS, but instead of guns and grenades, players are given swords, shields, maces, battleaxes and longbows. Set in a fictional, yet gritty and realistic world, players will fight in fast paced online battles besieging castles, raiding medieval villages and fighting for glory in the arena with up to 32 players. Added. Will try it one day, but not today ;-).

Didn't know the old one had linux support, but since it's not my kind of game (MMO) I probably wouldn't have bought it anyway.

Thank you very much for the tip!

I really wish they'd worked out mod support for the linux version of this. I wanted black knight mode, with the limbs being chopped off and whatnot, and other cool mods too. A shame, but still a fun game.

Whenever Steam key giveaway takes place I feel guilty. It's not ok to receive a product if you didn't pay for it.
However I added this game to library for one reason - when it was on a free weekend I didn't enjoy it, because of a poor hardware. I didn't upgrade the hardware since that moment. The game will wait in my library until my hardware is ready - if the game is alive and fun when I'm ready - I will pay for it.

So.. how is this compared to For Honor? What I want now is Mount and Blade 2. Seems For Honor and Chivalry both want to be Mount and Blade, but fall far short of it.
