Planetary Annihilation certainly isn't without faults, but it is still a good bit of real time strategy fun on a massive scale. They just added a well needed update too.

Ranked Matchmaking is the most important addition to the latest update making the online play that little bit more interesting and rewarding. You are placed into certain leagues like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Uber (with unique badges for each).

There are also new commander units, and the general performance fixes and bug fixes.

Be wary though, as in our recent livestream of me battling Samsai the bug of the UI suddenly not responding does still happen at times. Luckily you can re-join games rather easily.

See the full post on it on Uber's forum here.

You can buy it on Steam, Humble Store or directly from the developers right now! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

If I remember correctly AMD has fixed bug in FGLRX that break UI in PA back in May of 2014. So you likely using really outdated version of fglrx. Switch to most recent one and game will work just fine.

Though it's still better to run game with "--software-ui" because it's always work properly no matter what driver you using.

I use latest fglrx 14.30 (stable catalyst 14.9). I tested on two linux systems Ubuntu 14.10 and Mageia 4.

This shouldn't happen for sure. If you agree to make some testing please accept my friend request on Steam.

What do you mean?

I'm never heard there was any issues with sound in PA on any platform.
It's using FMOD so it's can work with any audio server without a problem.

Oops. In PA the sound works fine. I thought this was the Icewind Dale Enhanced thread:'(.

Will take a look in it, since the last time that I played multiplayer was still in early access and my internet speed was not so good.
And welcome back Liam :).

I am about as good at playing PA as I have been at competitive Starcraft; in other words, I suck badly:'(, but the game is big fun to play until another player or the AI obliterates me. It is certainly fast-paced and gorgeous-looking, and I don't regret having contributed to the Kickstarter campaign one bit^_^.

Now PA have offline mode so you don't need internet access to play single-player.

Though multiplayer still require 2-4.5Mbps of downstream bandwidth because it's client-server game.
