Red Awakening, the First Person Action/Horror game by the guys over at Domino Effect, may be coming to Linux.

Ivan Boyanov confirmed the Linux port in an email.
QuoteWe want to release the game for Windows first and then continue optimizing it for other platforms including Linux.

It's important to take claims like this with a grain of salt. It's not uncommon for developers to make promises they cant fulfil, and Red Awakening is not out of that margin. One of the developers posted on Reddit today claiming they have been working on the game for a few months with a $0 budget.

Red Awakening is, however, built on Unreal Engine 4. So at least we won't see any delays due to lack of engine support. The game is expected to be launched for Windows by Halloween day 2015.

About Red Awakening
In the aftermath of the Vietnam War, the United States is in turmoil. The youth are out of control, protests turn to riots in the streets with students boycotting schools across the country, fearing a civil war with the youth of America and the ever increasing threat of both domestic and international communism, the powers that be fund a CIA derivative of the MKSEARCH program, Codenamed: “Red Awakening”, a program designed to solve all of America’s problems at once.

The game is a surreal blend of neon drenched, drug induced, satirical storytelling with first-person dynamic stealth, parkour style movement, ultra-violent gameplay, unnerving synth soundtrack, all wrapped in our distinctive cell shaded graphical style. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Damn. There goes my interest. We need more FPS on Linux but I would prefer more single player FPS.

Am I missing something, as I haven't seen that mentioned.

As far as I can tell it will have a single-player.

Edit > Turns out I was missing something. It states "online campaign based multi-player" on the full game page for it.

If we're randomly citing existing single player first person shooters for linux then you missed Metro Last Light, Borderlands 2, Borderlands Pre Sequel etc.

I'm with Public Nuisance in wanting more single player FPS. We've played and replayed the few which are already available.

EDIT: Although I completely understand that other people would like to see some variety e.g. Racing games which are notably absent from linux.
