Kingdom Come: Deliverance does sound like it will be amazing, but sadly the Linux version is far off, and will be quite a wait after the Windows version.

We contacted the developers on twitter who confirmed the Linux version is still happening:

@gamingonlinux Yes, sir! :)

— Warhorse Studios (@WarhorseStudios) February 4, 2015

They did respond to our request for when it will come which wasn't clear:

@gamingonlinux Hard to tell.. but better don't expect it too early :( Sorry, we are adding other (platform-)builds from time to time!

— Warhorse Studios (@WarhorseStudios) February 4, 2015

On another site that spoke to the developers they said this (rough translation!):
QuoteAs we have already said, the PC is the primary platform for us. But I'm afraid the console, Mac and Linux will build gradually during the first half of 2016

Recent footage of it shows off how promising it looks:

The game was funded on Kickstarter with over a million dollars, and has continued funding on its own website where it has hit 2.2 million now.

About the game (From the Kickstarter)
A first-person, open world, realistic RPG that will take you to Medieval Europe in a time of great upheaval and strife. A humble, young blacksmith loses everything to war. As he tries to fulfill the dying wish of his father, Fate drags him into the thick of a conspiracy to save a kidnapped king and stop a bloody conflict. You will wander the world, fighting as a knight, lurking in the shadows as a rogue, or using the bard’s charm to persuade people to your cause. You will dive deep into a sweeping, epic, nonlinear story from Daniel Vávra, an award-winning designer from the Mafia series. Our unique, first-person combat system lets you wield sword or bow in both one-on-one skirmishes and large-scale battles. All of this - and more - brought to life beautifully with next-gen visuals delivered via Cryengine.

This game looks awesome! I've been following it since it was on Kickstarter, but I'm glad I didn't back it now that it turns out Linux won't be on launch.

I'll just wait patiently and get it when it's released for Linux.

Quoting: vultureit is even bigger fiasco when they make error when naming their primary platform

I was actually considering writing to Trading Standards because they shouldn't allow developers and publishers to advertise games as being for "PC" when they mean just Windows. But I never get round to it because I figure I can save writing angry letters to everyone for after my 70th birthday.

Just do it already! Every step counts, and Linux requires many steps.

Quoting: EKRboi
Quoting: SmalokiI think one of the reasons for this is CryEngine's lack of Linux support (I know Crytek are currently porting it, but they aren't done yet...).

I really hope that they'll port it even if Crytek drops the promised Linux version of their engine.

Source? I've been under the impression that the engine has been Linux capable since mid last year. I can't recall really hearing/reading anything more about it much past when Crytek announced and showed Linux support at GDC last year. Everyone knows about Star Citizen, this game and I feel like there was a ski/snowboarding game announced last year that even showed it running in Ubuntu that was running in CryEngine.

EDIT* Yep, HERE is the link to the GOL article about the game titled "Snow".

Liam can you reach out to the devs for a linux support update please? It looks to be going into "closed beta" at the end of march.. which from the looks of things is open for registration on their website right now @ www.snowthegame.com

I've reached out to the developer of SNOW as requested.

I backed this game on Kickstarter, so I definitely hope they're going to release a version for Linux as promised.

I hate it when developers coin PC as Windows only. /facepalm

I also backed this game on Linux. If it weren't for the promised Linux version and the quality the developers wanted to achieve I probably wouldn't.

Backed this one. It looked promising, but now I am unsure about the Linux release date...
I must admit I would rather get Crysis 1 or warhead instead of any other cryengine game.

I'm OK with it. Let the Windows people buy it, test it, report on it, say whether it gets boring fast. If it's a good game I'll buy it when they actually get to Linux, if not I'm saving my money. Promise of a "maybe, probably, in the future" Linux version no longer cuts it.
