As new releases are a little light today, and I'm really rather tired it's question time. What has been your biggest let down from a Linux game this year?

Mine is a little controversial, as my personal pick is Dying Light. Now, if you remember from a previous review I liked the general gameplay, but I'm still completely stung by just how terrible the ending is. I can't remember a game that had me so annoyed at the ending it's unreal. It still crashes often too, and with so little communication about patches for it and future performance fixes it's still on my naughty list. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I can't say I've been disappointed this year because there are so many great games out to play. I will say though that I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if Medieval II: Total War does not come out on Linux. I'm hyped about that one.

Shadowrun is still 32-bit only…

Wasteland 2 Director's Cut: it's so broken that 2 weeks after release it still doesn't start on Linux... (I was hit by this: https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?p=159807#p159807 but I refuse to edit my system limits only to play a game)

EDIT: And the "Vanishing of Ethan Carter" still not on Linux

Dying Light - GOTY 2015

I would say Witcher 3 and Mad Max, two games that were explicitly advertised as coming to Linux/SteamOS that have been left in limbo without any word from the developers.

Quoting: Comandante oardoWell.. for me, Batman: Arkham Knight.. I remember It was announced for Steam Os /linux for Fall 2015 (That will be now)... And nothing happened... AND NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER DELAY!!!
It was delayed because the Windows version was broken and recalled for additional development. Feral had to wait until the recent re-release to begin their porting process.

I'd have to say Shadow of Mordor because when I think about it I feel disappointed rather than "super sweet experience." It ran well and looked great on Arch. My conclusion is my expectation was too high. One of my friends said it was his GOTY when it came out, and it looked very good and fun. It was fun, but it felt too similar to Assassin's Creed and Batman. It also made me realize that I'm not really into open world games. So, *shrug* I don't blame the game, but it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. I did beat it though.

Is not more easy for Feral to port the game directly from the PS4 version?
Because to make a Linux port from a bad Windows port from a console version is not very effective technique... I think

About Batman Arkham knight.. It was a gift from Nvidia for purchasing an Asus GTX 960 STRIX...
So... I can wait. :P

Quoting: GuestThe only game I was looking forward to playing a bit of was Storm United. That it hangs my entire system and thus has been the only game I've ever gone for a refund with, makes it the biggest letdown for me.

Seriously? It's in alpha, or pre-alpha. It's in absolutely no-way finished. The least you could have done is try to figure out what was causing it. What drivers/gfx card were you using?

All of the promised Linux ports that sit undelivered... Not so much those from Aspyr, Feral, or even VP, as I have confidence that most all of them will arrive in due time (Batman I'm not sure about). I mean games like Mad Max, Witcher 3, Gauntlet, Project CARS, as well as GOG Galaxy. There are many more, unfortunately...

Biggest not disappointment of the year: Steam Controller. Love it to bits!
