Divinity Original Sin 2

I still have hope that D : OS2 will be released for linux. Larian seems like a studio that would do that, judging from the release of D : OS Enhanced Edition. To give myself some hope based on evidence, I look to their last Kickstarter update [[kickstarter link]](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin-2/posts/2275088). In it Larian says
QuoteWe’ll obviously continue to support the game with patches and we are still working on ports to other platforms, but content wise we’ll be moving on to new things. Expect to hear a lot more from us once we’re ready to announce our new endeavors.

I hope one of their remaining target platforms is Linux, as I can't get D : OS2 to run in wine (3.15 staging) or Steamplay (3.73, or 3.75 beta). Its been frustrating as the game ran in an earlier version of wine (3.11 or 3.9 - not sure). I don't know if there was a change to wine or the game which caused this.

Would love to have a native port!
Proton seems to be very hit and miss. By that I mean some people report a particular game working flawlessly, and other people say it's completely broken. Was kind of hoping there would be some abstraction here that made it less distribution / configuration dependent, but doesn't look like that's the case.

D:OS 2 aside, Divinity OS: Enhanced Edition (Native on Linux) is currently 75% off on Steam.

And on GOG.com, although not for the Collector's Edition:

On reflection, even though my hardware is too old to play it as my graphics card does not support OpenGL 4, I decided to buy the first game merely as vote to help port over the second. I still have a ton of Infinity Engine campaigns to burn through at any rate.

I bought it on GOG two months ago. Finally decided to play it yesterday, but couldn't get my PS4 controller to work with the GOG version of the game.

So I just brought it from Steam as well, works perfectly.
