I see they have even reaffirmed Linux support in an update:
Quote"At the $1.5 Million level we will be adding a Linux version along with the Mac OS X version. We know that the Linux community is a very dedicated and internet-active group, so we hope their support will help us make that goal."

Oh dear, I would have made a much better writeup if I knew it would be posted verbatim on the front page
Anyhow, the initial goal for $900 000 has already been reached. Just $600 000 to go for the Linux port.

It seems to have gotten some pretty mixed reviews, but I'm all for keeping an open mind until I can try it myself.

It wasn't the article so much as the comment thread. motorsep was basically threatening to throw in the towel when it comes to Linux support...

Sad to see that they're struggling to sell a measly 3000. I feel like buying a second copy just to distance myself from the jerks over on Phoronix :/
Amnesia A Machine for Pigs

I get your point, but in fairness it should be pointed out that Frictional have been very good when it comes to Linux support. They released a very handy testcase for the features the Amnesia engine needed and the guy who did the Linux port took part in bug discussions on bugs.fdo.

Quoting: "Stephan Huebner, post: 3511"Nice idea, but what I am geting sick and tired of is of Linux-games that will be released "soon after" the versions for other systems. Why is Linux always handled like a stepchild? It comes to a point where I don't bother anymore with companies who think that way, no matter how good their games may be.

Guess I was wrong to be so pessimistic about the chances for a confirmed Linux release. I would offer to eat my hat, but I don't actually own one...
In other news, Brian Fargo is apparently going to Kickstart development for a Wasteland sequel, wonder if he can be convinced to do a Linux version as well?

It's interesting and anything they make will be worth playing.
But, comments like that about Linux support make me sceptical. It sounds too much like the usual PR-babble were you never give a straight answer, just keep stringing them along until the last minute...
