Quoting: GuestI was interested until you mentionned The Cat Lady… But hey, still looks pretty good.

Don't let that put you off this game. They are very different from what I've played, but I mentioned it because I thought they might appeal to the same people. If I may ask, what is it that you don't like about The Cat Lady?

Quoting: fleskThe game was funded on IndieGoGo almost two years ago, and was featured in The Funding Crowd 9 while the campaign was running.
I see you've done your research homework this time around, good boy. :P

Really looking forward to this one, and more so if it's coming DRM-free to GOG! I ended up not backing it on Indiegogo, and I can't remember why... :S:

I try to include a link when I cover a crowdfunded game I know has been mentioned on TFC, but I might have forgotten to look it up a few times. :S: Were you thinking of a specific game?

Quoting: BladderbloatYay, thanks for spreading the news to the linux community!

My pleasure. Thanks for making the game! :)

The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief Now Available On GOG For Linux
28 July 2015 at 7:33 pm UTC

I played the Steam version of The Raven a while back and I also experienced a lot of graphical glitches and path-finding issues. The most noticeable graphical issue for me was that some characters would sometimes be missing the top of their head. When I first started the game, it was set to a much too high resolution, so that I couldn't see any of the options in the start menu. I had to click around blindly until I managed to set it to a lower resolution. There were areas on the train and on the ship that I didn't even know I could walk to initially, and I was sure I was missing the solution to a puzzle when I was unable to progress for a while. And even after finding those areas, I had problems going back, since clicking in just the right spots was so difficult. Even with those issues though, I still really enjoyed the game, and it was a pretty neat twist towards the end (even though you'll probably be able to call it a while before it happens).

Quoting: CybaCowboyI'd be more excited if it was Lego Jurassic Park...

Me too. I envy Mac users their selection of LEGO games. Would buy most of those games full price if they were made available for Linux.

End Of An Era, LinuxGames Website Looks To Be Shutting Down

Quoting: XylemonI tried to get into this site, but besides the fact news was almost always months delayed, they felt like making it their plug for personal opinions that may or may not be relevant (beyond game review type of stuff). In a way it's sad to see it die, but GamingOnLinux has been far better in my view.

I think I only posted one editorial on linuxgames.com in the past 15 years, and that was too much for this guy!

I thought that was a great article and not out of place. Thanks for writing that.

That's sad news, and it's a shame if TimeDoctor can't continue to contribute if he's still motivated to do so. :(
