I've been waiting for the Linux version of Contraption Maker, so that's very welcome. And 140 is an excellent rhythm platformer.

Tactical RPG Flamberge Available In Steam Early Access And Has A Demo

@BillNyeTheBlackGuy: I haven't played Fire Emblem, so I wouldn't know, but those three games are displayed as inspirations in the Kickstarter pitch video. I have also seen others compare Flamberge to it on Steam. Maybe it's just the turn-based combat, though that's hardly unique to Fire Emblem.

@oldrocker99: Yeah, that seems like a good comparison.

Sang-Froid Developers Artifice Studio Are Looking For Beta Testers For Upcoming Space RTS Conflicks
7 April 2015 at 7:17 am UTC

Quoting: KeizgonI'm a bit baffled at the trailer. Is this really going to be an RTS...? I seriously can't find words to express how confused and strangely amused I'm feeling from the presentation.

That’s exactly how I felt when I first heard about the game last year.

Might be the way missions are structured, with story elements before and after each chapter, and being able to replay any mission whenever you want to? Those three games were mentioned specifically in the Kickstarter campaign, but I don't know if they've said anything about which elements are inspired by which games.

Quoting: liamdaweThanks for doing this one flesk :)

No problem at all. I like the game a lot and have already put over 6 hours into it. Took me a bit longer to write up than I had planned though, since my first attempt ended up as a massive wall of text and I had to hack it down a bit.

SteamWorld Heist Has A First Gameplay Trailer
3 April 2015 at 5:40 pm UTC

I liked SteamWorld Dig a lot too, but I had had my fill on it by the time I got through it. I think I'll enjoy the change in gameplay, and I'll probably buy this game the moment it's out.

Quoting: muntdefemsHehe, while reading the article I couldn't help thinking "this looks a lot like CLARC with co-op". And then I reached the final paragraph. :)

Hehe. ;) What did you think of CLARC (if you played it that is)? I didn't like the action sequences in it at all, but the more puzzle-y stealth elements were pretty interesting, and I overall really liked the game. I might write a review of it sometime.

Retro Style Arcade Game 'Pix The Cat' Now Available For Linux On Steam
1 April 2015 at 11:44 am UTC

Yeah, me too. Would be great to get a Linux version of Pac-Man Championship Edition too, but with Namco Bandai as publisher I don't think there's much chance of that happening.
