This article is again missing the early access tag. Please make it possible for readers to avoid reading about unfinished games, I just don't consider it worth the time. Thanks.

Card-based strategy game Faeria will go free to play in September, it's really good

Please make it more clear in the description when a game is in early access (and a tag to the article). Some people don't want to waste their time reading about games only to find out they are early access in the end. Thanks :)

I'd like to see percentages, not just total numbers, for example on mouse over. Currently it's extremely hard to say e.g. how many percent of people use an AMD graphics card, or, even worse, GNOME Desktop.

Graphs should be sorted in descending order, so the most used item should be on top. For example, distribution list should start with Ubuntu on top. Currently it's counter-intuitive. I'd keep current sorting for number-based graphs, like RAM or Resolution, it makes sense in those cases.

We are now importing sales from Steam to our Sales Page

Just a note, you can easily filter for Linux games deals at your preferred store using isthereanydeal.com. You can place titles in your wishlist and be notified via email or rss. Maybe we don't need to re-implement that site here, that one works really well.

Quoting: Dea1993into the gpu driver graphs you also must add Hybrid driver (AMDGPU-PRO, is open and closed)
Done. You can now select it on your profile, won't show up of course until new graphs are generated.

I don't think it's much useful to make this distinction and it will only confuse people. Catalyst is now dead, it will phase out from distros very soon. And AMDGPU-PRO is still closed, it doesn't really matter that some parts are open, the bundle is closed overall. You are running a closed blob, and whether it is a kernel driver or a userspace driver is just an unimportant detail. So having just "opensource" and "closed" covers all cases and is simple.

Quoting: liamdaweSure, you can paypal if you like [email protected]. I should add that back in.

Liam, is this still valid? If it is, could you add it to https://www.gamingonlinux.com/support-us/ to make it look official and also help me (and others) find it? I prefer one-time donations through PayPal, and I'm not sure I'll find this information buried in the article history again when I search for it in a few months. Thanks.

Ubuntu 16.04 dropping the AMD Catalyst/fglrx driver

Quoting: KimyrielleAnd yes, the person who said that GPU drivers should be installable via the distro's package manager from its standard repository is right. I don't really get why installing a GPU driver has be a completely different process than any other package either.

No, it should not be installable. It should be included by default. Same as any other drivers, which you do not need to install on Linux, because they are included in Linux (kernel), e.g. motherboard drivers, wifi drivers, printer drivers, etc etc. Having anything outside of Linux kernel is just an obstacle for a common user and should never be needed.

Quoting: KimyrielleBoth AMD but also NVidia have to get their act together eventually and release something that installs with one click, you know...like in Windows.
Actually, one of those companies is working hard on something even better, something you don't even need to install, which works out of the box. The second one isn't. Guess which is which :)

I'm pretty happy with my Radeon R9 270 running the opensource driver. The situation is not perfect, and yes, some games don't run or have issues, but the situation has improved sharply in the last 2 years, and I can now play the majority of my titles (including some AAA ones) quite fine. See my profile on OpenGameBenchmarks:
http://www.opengamebenchmarks.org/accounts/profile/91

As long as I have access to Windows in dual-boot, I'd never pick Nvidia. Nvidia driver is too much pain overall (not to mention that it's also the most aggressive, unlikeable, and opensource unfriendly company out there). Radeon driver just works, most games work fine, and for the few ones that don't, I reboot and play in Windows. And AMD needs some support for moving things in the right direction.
