Yes, same experience here: Batman, L.A. Noire...need .NET and today there are a lot of issue that block the install on 32 and 64 bits Wineprefix.
Windows media player is also need for Darksiders (remastered or not).

Quoting: chancho_zombieNow we need better Net framework support, IMO a good chunk of the games that don't run it's .Net fault.

The compatibility list is far bigger than the whitelist, few of my windows games don't work with Proton.
A lot of windows games need a lot of tweak to run on Linux, but on Steam you install it and it just works!
Dragon Age, Assassin SCreed, Bioshock remastered, Need fo speed, Skyrim...
It's a lot of work to obtain this result, Steam team had work hard this last year (or more).
Wine team should be proud of what happened today, their product, a pure FOSS borned on Linux plateform, will help Linux users (even Macosx users) to play games with ease and comfort.
Less time to test and tweak game means more time to play.

First Steam Play game installed: Ultimate Doom installs and launches, no crash, no bug. It uses a dosbox with a steam overlay.

It's one of the biggest news, it's not the biggest news for Linux gamers for a long time!
Last time I feel so excited it was the announce of the Steam client port on Linux or the first Tomb Raider Linux version.
But for the moment I didn't find the button to install Windows games on Linux....where is it lol
Oh my god there is Tekken 7 in the Whitelist!!! Where is this f..ing Steam play button???

Incredible:
Some games (DarkSiders, Dark Souls prepare to die edition) had some issues with the gamepad, they didn't detect it or the controls were badly emulated (the famous spinning camera bug).
It seems this problem does not occur anymore if you use Wine 3.14 and https://github.com/kozec/dumbxinputemu dll.
What did the Wine team changed with the xinput emulation?

DXVK 0.70 is out with support for Direct3D 10 over Vulkan in Wine

Yes but the "setup_dxvk.sh" script is not maintained anymore by DXVK author and is no more available on the git sources.
You can read an interesting discussion about that here:

Quoting: Shmerlwinetricks is just a script. It would simply work as:
WINEPREFIX=/path_to_your_prefix winetricks dxvk
I don't like this method though since it overwrites files. I prefer to use symlink installation with setup_dxvk.sh

Because you had to delete all the symbolic links created by the old script before to install DXVK with winetricks.

WINEPREFIX=/home/legluondunet/wineprefix/BATMAN/ winetricks setup_dxvk.verb
Sweet! Thanks a lot! Going to try that!
Edit1: Did just that and it seems it installed (no error messages), but something is wrong. Witcher3 doesn't launch anymore. "Missing d3d11.dll". When I look in winecfg, all D3D10 and D3D11 dlls are installed in the library... Trying to reinstall them in winecfg works but I get terrbile performances (like no dxvk is used) and I still can't find DXVK anywhere in Winetricks... Back to DXVK-65 manually installed.
Edit2: Tried with a brand new wineprefix. It works! Awesome! Thanks again.

I've been looking into Winetricks for DXVK (dll or components, apps) but couldn't find anything with wine-devel... Is it called something else?
https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks/issues/999
Thanks, but how does it works with winetricks? It's not an official winetricks package?
Sorry, my experience with winetricks is really minimal. Last time I used it, it was back in 2011 and I didn't need to use anything not included in it. I understand that there is some kind of script to automatically determine the version of DXVK that wine must use, but how is it "activated"? What should I do?

I just bought Turok on Gog for less that 5$, the porter did a very good job, install and play without bug, it just works!
Note: the gamepad should be connected to your computer before to launch the game or the game will not detect it once launched.
