Quoting: ShmerlLately, I wanted to make some tool like that myself, after realizing that POL is basically a dead project. But I'll probably stick to some basic scripts :)

POL (PlayOnLinux) is far from a dead project:

I don't care about dualshock, use a steam controller, it is worth the price!
I'd prefer they correct the "alzheimer" bug: Steam client ask for my login/password/language at each launch.

I just tested the new Machinarium version: it works very well with wine 2.10 staging. I didn't test with other wine version. It seems more polished, more translation and more adapted for modern computer and HD screen.

If you like adventure game and puzzle, this game is a must to have. The windows flash version works very well with wine, I hope it will be the same for the new directx version. Once more time someone have to say to the developpers it's better to choose Vulkan for a multiplatform game, so why they choosed directx?

Quoting: buenaventuraWhat does Staging mean, really? I've interpreted it as similar to "experimental" or some such.

Staging is a branch of Wine with experimental patchs, for example:

CSMT (Commandstream multithreading) for better graphic performance
CUDA / PhysX / NVENC Support for NVIDIA graphic cards
DXVA2 GPU video decoding (experimental)
EAX 1 support
Fixes for various upstream regressions
GTK 3 theming support
Loading of .NET CLI images without entry point
Performance improvements for IO-heavy programs and memory allocation functions
S3 texture compression (DXTn) support
Support for allocating more than 32 GB of memory
Support for installing MSU files
Support for Vulkan
Various improvements to d3dx9
Various speed improvements (shared memory, RT priority)
Windows ACL support
