Road Redemption has released the big update for Linux gamers, it's actually pretty good

The gamepad support is bugged for me. Tested with Xbox 360, One, Steam Controller and Logitech F710, all with the same problem of misconfigured axes and buttons.

The game don't allow you to do alter the gamepad settings, and the config files do not show a gamepad section to modify.

It's a old bug, I got it before this big upgrade, witch is a shame because now the game looks very good and much more polished than it was before.

Last week Phoronix did a benchmark of a embargoed "port". Since the results showed a very heavy program being tested, I bet this is it.

On the plus side, a new engine to push developers to optimize the OpenGL 4.5 side of drivers, another engine besides Deus Ex to look into.

So, they are making the next Contra game, hum? Fine by me, since Konami now only want to do those stupid pachinko machines.

Nice. And I just checked and Ubuntu 17.04 just got Mesa 17.0.2, so it looks like this is the year that when you install a modern Linux distro and get (almost) all your hardware supported to the fullest. Kudos for all that made this possible.

Installation 01, a fan-made Halo game plans Linux support

Wow, those guys are in a dangerous spot. Halo is a cash cow for MS and they will send lawyers to trow briefcases at then, if they're feeling that the Halo name are in danger. Especially if the game became really popular and fans start to make comparisons making MS games look bad.

I know that Nintendo would have sent letters to then already if this was a Mario themed game.

As for this game, I'm not a Halo fan but this look really nice, especially if they could introduce a FOV slider in the settings, because the main reason I disliked Halo was the "sniper FOV" of the original Xbox games.

For a more easy way to change the settings, install the package "indicator-cpufreq"("sudo apt install indicator-cpufreq" for those of you in Ubuntu). It will show a icon in your taskbar were with 2 mouse clicks you can change to the Performance governor and back. I use it for both AMD and Intel CPUs for years and it works great, for any DE.

Nice touch the shield thing. I wonder, why more developers of sword wielding games do not do a defensive movement for their characters.

Quoting: AlveKattThere is already a VR Lets play of the demo on youtube!

Man, that is a killer app for VR.

I always thought that simulators and the like are the best case for VR. This trailer just solidify my belief on that. You are always in sit position on the vehicle and there is no problem with breaking the suspension of believe, because you don't have to walk anyway.

I am one of those that played a lot of Forsaken and very little of Descent.

Looking at the Overload video, I have to ask: were is the HUD? It's very strange to fly around without any kind o information on the screen.
