I think I'll be supporting this team just on principle of them being completely awesome about open source.

I wish they had gone with squirrel script instead, it's small, and damned fast but still has a lot of powerful features. If they're using the Python interpreter.... it's slow.

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

Quoting: Mountain ManIf that's the reason they've abandoned Linux then that seems rather petty.
Not even close to the level of pettiness shown by that vocal chunk that spewed forth a wall of toxicity towards those who were trying to help us out.

That's just the background noise you have to put up with when doing business.

Absolutely not! We're a small enough market already, and when a seemingly large chunk of that small market is the most vocal about something then that ends up being what people/devs/publishers see AND ASSOCIATE OUR SMALL MARKET WITH.

Justifying and allowing this is not good. It's idiotic. It's harmful.

Quoting: Luke_NukemAs far as I know, Linux support in Unreal Engine is completely volunteer maintained. Fairly certain no Epic employees are paid to work on it.

If they're going to do that, it would be nice if they could release the source code to the community to have help developing it.

The source code is available, for the engine and the game. This is how it is volunteer maintained.

Okay, vkquake is a vulkan port of quakespasm wich is the openGL version. You should have just used that instead of darkplaces since that engine has numerous bits'n'bobs added to it.
