A fresh NVIDIA Vulkan Beta Driver 455.34.01 is out with GeForce RTX 3070 support

Thanks for the tip. I've installed this driver on my OpenSuSE Tumbleweed system this afternoon, which uses a 5.9 kernel. So far I haven't noticed any issues, but then I don't use CUDA!

Atari VCS seeing supply shortages, not expecting full production until early 2021

11/5/2020? They're late then ;-)

More seriously, who is actually going to buy this? It's been so late that I would imagine backers or interested parties would simply be looking elsewhere for their nostalgia fix. The demo was back in February and we haven't seen much since.

Fun racing game with surprisingly-responsive controls and good music.

Had some issues with the controller configuration but found that binding the keyboard controls to my Steam Controller worked. Could not get my Logitech F710 to be recognised in-game though.

Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed for Stadia on November 19

Quoting: GuestI liked the news, Thank you Liam. But stadia is not for me. Streaming is the ultimate DRM.

Agreed. Whilst I appreciate that this excellent website covers all manner of Linux-related gaming, Stadia really isn't Linux gaming as I understand it.

With Steam, GOG, and the others the user is able to download the game locally and play it at their leisure on their own system. Even though Steam has its basic DRM, a simple insertion of Goldberg Emulator will (in most cases, except for the likes of Feral!) circumvent this and it's perfectly legal.

If the games are downloaded to the user's PC and Valve or GOG cease to exist, the games are still playable. If Stadia ceases to exist (see Google's track record) the files are not held locally and the user is screwed. This is not something that we should be encouraging at all.

Here's hoping that 'gamingonstadia.com' doesn't become a thing ;-)

With regard to 'crunch': these developers need a union.

Slightly different, but when I joined the railway (UK) many, many moons ago overtime was a very common thing. The difference being that it was well-paid and paid on-time. We were regularly working 72-hour weeks with 13 days on and 14th day off (this was post Hidden Report).

The other thing to note is that the overtime was voluntary though most of us took it because we were greedy sods. This is where some industries need unionisation so that workers can negotiate to work overtime (at decent rates) only if they wish to. They can also negotiate to have decent guaranteed time off work.

The Coma games were great fun, so I'm looking forward to this one too.

Quoting: damarrinThat was my impression as well. The only problem if it's not updated at all is it's going to stop working sooner or later.

That's the case will nearly all games, though. However, Linux users do have a way of resurrecting older software!

The only DLC for Stellaris that I require is not discounted. No surprise there!

Quoting: EikeI don't get a mouse cursor, neither in the main menu nor in the combine menu in the inventory...

Neither do I but WASD and SPACE work fine. Takes a bit of getting used to!

Have played 90min or so and it looks great! As mentioned, there are some FPS drops here and there but the gameplay is spot-on and the ghost is suitably terrifying :-)

Would maybe ask that the motion blur could be turned off but aside from that I cannot wait for the full release.
