QuoteNote: Gamepad support, at least with the Steam Controller is still completely broken on Linux. I have to use SC Controller to get the game to detect it.

Trouble is that whilst this workaround is fine locally it breaks when using in-home Streaming :(

Quoting: GuestSo many changes, nice :-) Didn't expect that IPv6 support is new though!

When I was in university, they told us that IPv4 is running short of addresses and the new IPv6 will fix that.

Yep - still using it without issue... :P

Quoting: titiBUT: you get several complete system freezes a day. At least this is the case for Ryzen5 2500U using ubuntu.
This is the reason I don't dare to try another AMD GPU at the moment.

Sure this isn't the Ryzen CPU lockup bug you're seeing?

MB firmware update and set (may be named differently on your board): 'Advanced->CBS->Power Supply Idle Control' set it to 'Typical current idle'

Quoting: Duke TakeshiHow is the current state of AMD and linux compatibility?

When I started switching from Windows to linux, I always bought Nvidia GPUs because the AMD drivers were complete rubbish.

Excellent generally now if using an up to date software stack.

I've an RX480 / Vega 64 set up (with the Vega VFIO passed to an Ubuntu VM) and they both run games just fine. The driver install is simpler with AMD and the workstation experience is better - I see less crashes switching VT than I did with my last NVidia for example. Performance is still an issue but the guys are making consistent progress :)
