I love AssaultCube. I made a ton of maps for my friends and I to play on there. We stopped in 2019 but I can get the gang back on that.

Talking Point: how about a monthly Steam Game Pass from Valve
24 May 2021 at 11:39 pm UTC

Computer games are so cheap and often free that I just don't see the benefit. It would literally have to be the games are super expensive and never on sale for me to even consider it. I'm a Stadia user and while Pro is good, I never paid for it. I just use the free months they provide. I buy the cheap games on it and keep it moving.

itch.io Creator Day gives 100% of the sales to developers today for 24 hours

Quoting: CheesenessApologies if I gave the wrong impression. This slider is something that developers can configure as part of their account settings, not something that customers have control over when buying a game.

All good. Thanks for the info and update.

Quoting: RafiLinuxI thought itch.io was always up to the dev on how much they gave back to itch itself. Did that change?

I may misremember, but my impression was that there was a range of 10%-30% to choose from.
You can set it to anywhere from 0% to 100% since open revenue sharing launched in 2015 (before that it wasn't possible to charge for games AFIK).

The default is 10% and there are presets for 10% and 30% for convenience.

Thanks. I have to look out for that on my next purchase.

Google says Stadia is very much 'alive and well' according to a new interview

Quoting: dubigrasuWhat I like about Stadia right now as a gaming platform is, well, its users.

Very spot on. I play with a large group of women (daughters, wife, SILs, and more) and so far they all talk about how chill it is to play with others on the mic when they do join public games on Stadia.

I don't know if Stadia is doing any policing but it seems to be an easier place for others to play with strangers.

I just recently started to allow users from outside of my family and friends to join our sessions and it seems to be on the money like everyone else in my circle has been saying but you're right about how long will this last.

For now it's been back to back fun.

Played some Tonight We Riot (GOG/itch.io) on the HTPC with a friend. Played The Division 2 (Stadia) with my wife and her sisters last night. We are level 9 now. This is my 3rd go at this game and I'm starting to like it a lot more than I thought I would. They seem to love it. Playing some Shadowgate (GOG) today while my wife rest and finishes up her book before we head out to a dinner date.

I'm no longer participating in what they have going on but I appreciate the 3 bundles I got back in the day.

Awesome fast-paced FPS DUSK gets a helpful update with more to come like Steam Workshop

Quoting: ValethThe GOG version seems to have an issue where the download just stops after a short while.
Can anyone confirm that, or is that just on my end?

I've been able to download it without issue. Just checked 17 mins ago.

Big screen gaming distribution GamerOS continues picking up the SteamOS slack
5 May 2021 at 6:04 pm UTC

I use SteamOS awhile back for my HTPC but dropped it as I left Steam and began to retire games that I no longer play.

Is GamerOS great for someone that has a large GOG/itch.io library? All of my games are controller based and we use our HTPCs as consoles-like machines.
