This was one of the last game I played on Steam last year (July) before I left Steam. The camping was just terribad. DM was the only thing worth playing at the time but that old fast with turning into sniper fest on large maps and berseker/bomber on close maps.

For me to come out of pocket - The indie scene has been great to me and my family as a Linux gaming household.
These developers will never be getting my $$$ with the stuff I've been reading about them.

I really loved that game. My friend owned it when I was a kid and we use to play it all the time @ his place. I tried all the others since then but that one is still a strong favorite of mine. It is probably the only console game that really spoke to me.
Played all types of home brew versions of it since then.

Quoting: EhvisI have to admit, the first Mario Kart was some of the most fun I had on a SNES. I got pretty good at it as well. And saying that this is inspired by it, is an understatement.

Agreed but an LAN version can still have life if released. Games like Skullgirls comes to mind the DRM-Free version is just LAN and SP only while the Online MP version exist on Steam.

Quoting: TcheyThe issue i find with late ports is that they are too late, most of the time. Other games came in the mid-time, and list of "to play" games is only going longer. Also, for online play, when Linux comes late, it also means the main activity around the game is done, and player base moved to another title.

Man. I've seen this stuff happening for a long time. If you walk into these small electronic shops in NYC or even some of the big box stores, you will see all types of devices being sold by fly-by-night companies and it's some distro running an emulator with some ROMS on it and I am pretty such they not giving anything back to anyone.
I was pretty excited to see the NeoGeo stuff release via Humble Bundle when it first came out because it gave ppl a chance to legally try these games either with the install or with MAME if you wanted to.
I remember using Stella a long time ago to play some games at an NYU game jam where ppl made 2600 games with different themes. It was a solid emulator.
This stuff is so murky it has me staying away from emulators for a long minute.
