Damsel, the fast-paced action platformer with comic-like story-telling is worth a look

I just started testing it this weekend and it seems fairly fun. It has a very arcade-like feel to me: kind of repetitive, but you know what you're getting into from the very beginning level. I didn't have any problems with my steam controller on SteamOS beta, I just set it to the generic gamepad template and I was good to go, other than the UI prompts all being for keyboard controls.

It might be nostalgia that's making me biased, but except for maybe for maybe one level near the end, it's still very fun to play (first played it when it was initially released on Windows). And for that level, I created a steam controller configuration that exploits the levitation power so you can basically float up indefinitely to help avoid the some precarious platforming falls.

I finished playing Little Bug, a fun platformer with grappling as its main mechanic. Figured out a fun but not very useful exploit of the physics in the game where you can slingshot the character into the air for minutes at a time; unfortunately, it's hard to predict where you're going to land so it's more for amusement than anything.

I also just started playing Rumu, which recently released a Linux version. It's fun so far and runs great, although it has some problems detecting the buttons on the Steam Controller properly.

They put out a couple small updates this weekend that fix some bugs and get rid of the opening dialog box (I requested it earlier on the steam forums). I had the same problem with the steam controller's right pad sensitivity; I had to switch to a Xbox 360 controller for the last part of the game for precision's sake

Valve have released some interesting statistics about controller use

I primarily use 2 steam controllers and have 2 Xbox 360's when we're playing more than 2 players. There are games where the right pad works fine (1st and 3rd person games like Doom and Tombraider), but it's harder to use in 2D games that require precision with a right analog stick. Could be I'm just not programming it correctly.

Quoting: BotonoskiThe Nvidia driver requirement doesn't seem all that strict. The decade old laptop I have hooked up to my TV ran this beta just fine despite running on version 340.106

The issue is game compatibility probably. The official SteamOS distro only is at 385.xx and many games that I tested didn't run for me or had graphical problems (maybe 5 out of 18 worked). Once I upgraded to the SteamOS beta distro (which his currently at 396.54) a lot of those problems were resolved (13 out of 18 worked).

"Reminds" is a very weak word for this, this seems like a carbon copy of Gang Beasts. Same concept, same core gameplay.

And Gang Beasts is already available on Linux, so what's the point?
As I understand it, Gang Beasts has no bots (only in a specific mode) and a lower maximum player count. That alone, could be a selling point for a lot of people. We certainly made great use of them.
The levels look interesting, I'll probably wait until the game is closer to release before considering a purchase to see what else they might add.
