FreeOrion 0.3 nearing the road to 0.4

By -
Well after looking up a few items that come up on the random spotlight it got me thinking i needed to check how their developments are going.

So i checked out FreeOrion which i have high hopes for as i used to play Master of Orion 2 when i was younger and recently got it again off gog.com
[item]54[/item]

Anyone interested in Master of Orion 1/2/3 would like this game as it is an open source version of it (like freeciv is to Civilisation).

After checking their recent development their roadmap page actually states this:
Quote0.3
Essentially Complete, Content Additions Ongoing

I also checked their development logs and a lot of love has gone into it (it's not one of those random dead projects which there's a lot of in the open source world - freera and freecnc i'm looking at you!).

So 0.4 should bring us this:
      Space combat model
      Ship design model
Tech tree for both of the above

Here's to hoping they bring it out soon :) Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
