About GamingOnLinux (GOL)
Started by Liam Dawe on his own in 2009. To this day it is still 100% independent and run entirely by Liam. Taking great pride in having accurate information around Linux, Linux Gaming, Steam Deck, SteamOS and all related news. GamingOnLinux is constantly referenced in many other mainstream gaming and technology websites as a source of information. We have a dedicated corrections feature for users to submit details of any errors, and our mailbox is open to everyone to suggest content or improve the articles.

Want to get in touch? See how on this page. You can also find many ways to support GOL on this page.

The website source code is open source too: https://gitlab.com/liamdawe/gamingonlinux. Also see our Privacy Policy and Ethics Policy.

While GOL content is 99% Liam, there are a few volunteer editors and moderators who help out. Below is a current list of who!
Main Editors
I am the owner of GamingOnLinux. After discovering Linux back in the days of Mandrake in 2003, I constantly checked on the progress of Linux until Ubuntu appeared on the scene and it helped me to really love it. You can reach me easily by emailing GamingOnLinux directly.

I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

History, sci-fi, technology, cooking, writing and playing games are things I enjoy very much. I'm always keen to try different genres of games and discover all the gems out there.

Oh and the name doesn't mean anything but coincidentally could be pronounced as "Buttery" which suits me just fine.

A big fan of platformers, puzzle games, point-and-click adventures and niche indie games.

I run the Hidden Linux Gems group on Steam, where we highlight good indie games for Linux that we feel deserve more attention.

I'm Neil, an avid Linux user since 2006 and a Linux-only gamer since 2013. I used to contribute to GOL's Funding Crowd articles, but now contribute the odd article directly, most recently the Play It Now series, and the IYL articles.

I also occasionally dabble a bit in Python, I do Internet Security for a living and finally, I'm a big fan of Neil Degrasse Tyson. And not just because he has a cool first name.
