Linux overtakes Mac on Humble Indie Bundle 6!

By -
So for the 9th time out of 16 total bundles we Linux folk have contributed more money in total than Mac users! This is taking into account the fact that there is 9000+ more buyers on Mac than Linux, this is due to the fact that Linux average purchases are around $3 higher than Mac.

Further giving credit to the fact that yes their is a market for Linux games and yes we will pay good money for them! While this bundle is by no means over it still has 7+ days left, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I hope more gaming companies/groups/whatever use stats like cheese's Humble Visualisations to see just how profitable Linux could be for them rather than dismiss it altogether.

Ps. There is another new Torchlight build out for Linux with more fixes. yippe! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm going to posit that when Vessel makes an appearance, we'll likely see a further jump in Linux/MacOS numbers.

It'll also be interesting to see what impact the upcoming bonus titles will have as well.

I have been wandering how long it will be before we see some bonus titles...

Looking at the previous bundles, today in a couple of hours is pretty much certain. But nobody know how long it will take for Vessel to make a debut on Linux. That's the game I want the most!

Nope.

This port was very, very rushed. They could have used another month of beating on it in testing :-/
Liam Dawe Sep 25, 2012
Agreed, but the fact that they are supporting it with fixes is good at least it's not a port and be done with it type thing like I've seen from other places.

Well, unfortunately things are being a bit rushed in general with the Humble Bundles lately. I specifically waited until now to install Physconauts from HIB5 after hearing so many bug complaints, and instead opted to play Amnesia which I knew would work flawlessly. Physconauts is working fine for me now with the updated build, but it now looks like Torchlight is in the same boat. And the cycle will continue.

But as long as it is fixed eventually...
