Killing Floor is quite an interesting one on the list, one i personally own and I am shocked it will be on Linux, I did previously contact them to ask to no reply so seeing this is awesome. Doing a bit of research i did manage to find this post on the Steam forum and the devs themselves replied saying they are interested but wanted to see demand, i guess demand was big enough!
I am still personally holding hope that Desurium will come out with a full release in a couple months and continue to be developed.
I am sure most of us would still prefer an open source game client even with Steam, whether that is Desurium or otherwise, an open source client would be easier to fix/integrate with different desktops, people can pick it apart for any security bugs, people can pick it apart to improve performance etc etc there are many advantages to open source.
That said a number of well known in the Linux community are actually working on the client so I'm sure it will work great.

lots on that list are HiB games, so makes nothing more then sense, I would say 90% of all HiB games come with a Steam Key, they all on my windows steam list so I assume they pop up on the linux steam list as well.
why desurium ? I have yet to find a issue with the default desura client, except maybe playing of flash/movies but I see that more as a linux issue then pure desura

Actually, those are not Flash videos - and yes, they have made them work properly in Desurium.
I was also running into performance problems and issues with file downloads on Desura.

Hm, I was thinking about buying Killling Floor, but I kind of didn't want to spend on anything non-native. Good to see that.

Desura is rather outdated and full of bugs, Desurium has A LOT of fixes since the official release.

Killing Floor to me personally is a great game, especially since it's one game that used to tie me to Windows.

Looking at it's description page, what distinguishes it from another prominent zombie co-op based Steam offering may I ask?

I wonder how hard one would have to twist the arms of id Software for them to get on that list? (And I'm not even thinking about Rage...)

They are quite different games.
Left 4 Dead is a story based shooter, everything is hand fed to you, you play to get from A to B basically.
Killing Floor is round based survival where you get money, buy your weapons, you also have specific character classes you can level up. Each maps mission is just to survive every round.

hmm okies, but what sort of bugs ? wonder what I am missing :)
anyways, a google on desurium led me first to https://github.com/lodle/Desurium which had some activity in the last few months
next was http://www.moddb.com/groups/desurium which looked better and showed me there is a opensuse 1 click and also led the the previous github so I guess that is the right place then.
is there a list of fixes ?

They added another one: Valve Test App 218410. I wonder. According to the install script, it's Defender's Quest though, which is an Adobe AIR app...

My wallet may suffer soon. Poor thing. I have read that there are actually Linux users who like Linux due to the severe lack of games, allowing them to work away. Their productivity and their wallets will suffer soon as well!
