Running With Rifles another little favourite project of mine that I like to watch grow has released a new updated version - 0.83!
I need to buy this game and give it a real good test run to review!

Quote0.83 adds two new burst mode weapons in the game and generic support for unlocking weapons using rank. The normal sandbox mode people play single player and on most servers won't restrict weapons other than grenades and bazookas just the way it has been, but we're starting to experiment with this idea on the Invasion_US now set up as the cooperative-only online campaign test server.

Haven't had a chance to play the demo, or watch the linked video here, but I did click through (many of) the screenshots on Desura... have to say, it looks like a wicked piece of tactical combat fun!
Obviously it's a totally different game (co-op, real-time, etc), but is it just me, or is there a bit of a Frozen Synapse feel to it?

This game looks like the old GTA 1 and 2 which were played from the top down perspective and were extremely fun.

I got given a key for it from a friend last night so tested a bit of it.
Nothing like Frozen Synapse, it's all real time, you only control your character, it's a top down action shooter.
It's fun though climbing up ladders sitting on rooftops and lobbing a grenade down - well worth the money.
