QuoteThe biggest remaining challenge is to get the editor running in Linux. We anticipate two difficult parts to this. First, although we have a GUI abstraction layer that uses GTK on Linux, we expect some amount of fiddling to be necessary to make it work right. Second, the case-sensitive nature of the Linux file system will cause issues that need to be dealt with since there are many placed where our editor stores file names in lower-case format. This will require a lot of effort to resolve, but it's not any harder than some of the other issues we have dealt with so far in the development of Leadwerks for Linux. The benefits of having a Linux game editor with a native look and feel will make it worth the extra effort it takes.
So it won't be too long before Leadwerks is running correctly under Linux and people can begin to make games using it!
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
noone is having a tantrum... your descriptions are overly dramatic... maybe you should consider calming down and view the comments in a more objective manner...
i've been doing this sorta stuff for a while now, programming... both professionally and as a business... my first software was released in 1985... i've seen this sorta stuff before, people trying to manipulate and control printed media so that they can say anything they like... no matter how close to the line it teeters on...
how is the fact that the Leadwerks 3 editor does not support terrain, trees, foliage an opinion...
how is the fact that Hoodwinks wasn't made with Leadwerks 3 an opinion...
how is the fact that scenes depicted in the other segments of the promo video were made with Leadwerks 2 and not Leadwerks 3 an opinion...
these are facts, which should be made clear if these scenes are being used to promote a version of Leadwerks which does not have these capabilities...

re: grass, etc: the last info i got (from the forum) is that tree and grass placement wont appear in the upcoming 3.1 release...
in a response from a status question, "does Leadwerks 3.1 have the ability to place trees and flowers", josh lint said "not yet"... so i guess that'll be on the todo list for 3.2 or another service update...
this WAS part of Leadwerks 2 editor, and i'm certain that more than a few licensees would live to see it included...
