Announced today is the start of a new adventure for Linux gamers, Deadfall Adventures has been released into open beta for all owners.
One thing is odd, they already released it to all Linux users at the end of December last year, but they said it "is not a beta version".
I don't know what has changed to make them now say it's a beta, but copied below is their announcement.
As you can see not much info, but hopefully it is now more stable.
Key Features
Action -Adventure gameplay from a first-person perspective
Set in the Quatermain-universe, created by H. R. Haggard
Fast-paced action and intense, accurate FPS gun battles
Adventurer equipment: compass, treasure maps, notebook and flashlight – necessary to solve ancient puzzles, find treasures and even to defeat certain types of enemies
Puzzles that encourage you to explore the game environment and interact with it
Environmental traps that can be used to eliminate enemies in many spectacular ways
Exotic, picturesque locations from around the world – Egypt, Arctic and forgotten
Mayan ruins in the jungles of Guatemala
Compelling story faithful to the spirit of classic action-adventure movies
1930’s setting, including detailed weapon designs
Unique adventurer-style multiplayer features and modes
It is also FREE for this weekend, so make the most of it!

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
When you open system monitor (or whatever it's called in your distro), you can see it loading stuff in memory and keeping 1-2 cpu cores busy. Here it actually starts when the game has allocated around 1.5GB of memory.
That's how I keep an eye on it to make sure it's not just hanging :P

When i start the game, a window opens :Deadfall Adventures Splash
after 30 seconds it closes and another window opens: Deadfall Adventures 64-bit
At this moment the Game stops. if i close it, a warning pops up and says: "Deadfall Adventures 64-bit doesnt react." i have the options to close it or wait.
(sry for my bad english, im swiss)
Tried it multiple times on the latest Lubuntu 64bit, but it won't start. The splash screen stays on permanently. Using 'top' I can see it running in the background though... .

I played through a good portion of the first level or so. It's pretty, but rather sub-par. Pass.
