Because, A Fast Paced Arcade Shoot-em-up

This is a long named game, "Because this is literally the best we could come up with: Retribution" hah nice. It's a very pretty looking arcade shooter and quite random (you can fire cheese!).

It's available for "Name your own price" on Itch.io right here. You can pay nothing and download it for free or support the developers, your call.

The game is very pretty, but it's very repetitive too as the enemies all feel very static. A lot of them barely move at all and it felt a bit lifeless at times, that is until you find the cheese weapon and shooting wedges of cheese was pretty amusing.

About
A fast paced arcade shoot-em-up. Survive through 37 waves of enemies with your quick reflexes. Each game is randomized for maximum replayability. Started at the Berlin Mini Game Jam with the theme "strange power-ups", some of the power-ups help you, while others make you more vulnerable. Dodge the nasty ones for a higher chance to stay alive, you have three lives. Featuring a catchy chiptune soundtrack and beautiful pixel art graphics for your delight.

Features
  • 2d pixel art and chiptune soundtrack
  • 37 randomized waves of enemies
  • 12 types of enemies
  • 15 types of powerups, some good, some bad
  • your score is how far you make it
  • Gamepad support
  • Credits & Links

It has both 32bit and 64bit Linux binaries for download, so those of you stuck in the past on 32bit aren't left out (jokes aside, it's useful).

I look forward to seeing what else "Lair of pixies" can cook up for us.
