The developers of Unreal Tournament have another update in store for us and it sounds like it's all coming together very nicely. If you have been living under a rock the new one is confirmed for Linux.

To sum it up:
- The announcer is in DOUBLE KILL!
- Ragdolls are in.
- They are putting in things like the scoreboard right now.
- A community member has been working on awesome looking characters, environments, weapons and more.
- They show off the bio-rifle with it sticking and dripping everywhere.
- Not every weapon will be on each map, each map will have a set of weapons.
- They aren't sure if they will allow a custom UI while in-game as they don't want to give people unfair advantages over others.
- The character customization probably won't be very in depth, mostly colours and size

It looks like it's coming together really fast and I honestly don't think it will be long before it's playable, as they do seem to have most of the basics already there or working on them right now. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I LOVE THAT SHOCK RIFLE

I may have some ideas for the bio gun, I will try to draw a model in blender, but I am not very good at drawing and 3D modeling :-/

This all sounds great.

I pretty much love all the decisions they are making and how they are involving the community, I think the game will turn out really well.

I still cringe when I hear mention of the store, like at the end of the video they mentioned people can sell player models on their store. I'm not sure I'm completely sold on this idea yet. I really don't like anything in-game to remind me about real world money in any way, and I'd rather just pay for the game and everyone gets everything it can offer rather than having it fractured based on how much each person can pay.

But so far it looks like we can trust them to at least make that difference not too noticeable, so hopefully I'll get used to the idea eventually.
