I already had bought it some time ago, but hadn't played it on Windows yet. I noticed in my library an Extra Game under my SteamOS & Linux category thought it might have been another "Free Weekend" game...got really excited when I saw it was Baldur's Gate! Installed it and made sure it launched and intro videos worked even played a little bit in the menus. Looking forward to jump into it again after Wasteland 2.

Unless they make a non-Steam release on GOG.com or whatever I am going to have to pass on the local landmark then.

As far as I know, Beamdog will offer a Linux version as well.

Is there something I am missing here?

I switched to the beta release on Steam but was unable to install the game. I get the 'ol "Failed to start game (missing executable)" prompt. Am I missing something here?

Beamdog is the company which made the EE editions of BGs and Icewind Dale.

I believe I have kept that far from a secret.

That is not what I felt I was missing.

I'd read about a Linux version from Beamdog but I can't find the link.
