An Update On The Stonehearth Linux Port

By -
The city builder Stonehearth which reached their Linux stretch goal back in the Kickstarter campaign is closing in on the ports both to Mac and Linux, which will evidently happen at the same time.

QuoteCurrently we have no solid date for our Linux port, but we intend to start it after more of the core gameplay features (mining, water, multiplayer) are complete. We look forward to the process though; Chris in particular is very excited about some graphics performance tools we'll be able to leverage once we have the game running on Linux.

However, the game runs perfectly under Wine and I don't see why they should rush this as the game isn't even on the Steam store yet, as they also decided not to take early-access. The future is bright!

Not the right attitude dude! we don't want to let companies off with this.

I rather wait before using wine for this one. I have enough other games to play anyways.

As long as the Linux version is available on Day-1 of the official release... Else you are exposed to "we only sold 50 copies of our linux port" type of argument (heard that somewhere?) when many linux players previously bought it on Windows and won't buy it again on Linux.

I bought it when the stretch goal was reached, so I wont buy any other game if they refuse linux.
