The full game will be available as an offline DRM free version next summer, but the developer, Maschinen-Mensch, has released an alpha to gather player feedback to help balance procedural aspects of the game.

Curious Expedition is being made by Riad Djemili and Johannes Kristmann; two former employees of YAGER, the developer of 'Dead Island 2' and 'Spec Ops: The Line'. Their new game is set on a procedurally generated map, and it requires you to plan expeditions, manage resources, fight, explore and interact with natives. You get to choose from a wide range of notable people from the 19th century to play as, including Amelia Earhart, Charles Darwin, Nikola Tesla and Marie Curie.
The game is being built in HTML5 and features lovely pixel art. According to the developers, they've had a closed alpha running for three months and have received positive response from their testers. They estimate that the game is currently about 50% complete as they still want to put more locations, items and characters in it and add a dedicated skill-check mechanic to determine your abilities in combat and encounters with natives. A single playthrough of the upcoming full game should take 2-3 hours, spread across several 10-30 minute expeditions.
If you're interested in getting involved with the game in an alpha state, there's a chance to do so by getting one of several editions through Humble Widget. The base game starts at $12, but with more expensive editions available for things like the soundtrack, an art book and the chance to have your portrait in the game.

Only 2-3 hours for the full game? Maybe you wanted to write 20-30?

No, it's 2-3 hours per playthrough according to the developer. The maps are procedurally generated, so no two playthroughs should be the same. A couple of hours or more sounds about right for a roguelike.
