We know that Evolve is coming to Linux, but we don't know who is porting it yet. It does seem to be making progress:
QuoteChanged App Config
launch/1/config/osarch: 64
launch/1/config/oslist: macos
launch/1/description: Launch
launch/1/executable: Evolve.app
launch/2/config/osarch: 64
launch/2/config/oslist: linux
launch/2/description: Launch
launch/2/executable: Evolve.sh
That and more was added to the Evolve SteamDB page today! We know this doesn't mean it will be released today (we can hope right?), but it means it's actively being worked on.
About Evolve
Evolve is the winner of over 60 awards making it the most award winning game coming in 2015. Most notably, Evolve is the first game to win both the official E3 and Gamescom Best of Show awards in the same year.
In a savage world of man vs nature, are you the hunter or the hunted? Turtle Rock Studios bring you Evolve, the next-generation of multiplayer shooters where four hunters face-off against a single, player-controlled monster. Stalk your prey, execute your attack and prove you are the apex predator in adrenaline-pumping 4V1 matches.
All aboard the hype train, choochoo!
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: edgleyEh, another multiplayer only shooter. Not excited to be honest.
My problem isn't a multiplayer only shooter, I would love to play Titanfall because it looks like fun. I've played Evolve and it's boring as hell. You're either over-powered as the monster or bored looking for it with no action because the monster is very far away. I'd rather play Trouble in Terrorist Town for online detective gameplay, it's more fun.

Huh!? We DO know who is porting it, we've known for weeks since they put it on their radar alongside the image of a fish with legs. As 'clues' go that was about as subtle as the Hollywood sign. :O

This will be a stillborn release. The player base of Evolve has been in a state of free fall ever since the game came out. I strongly recommend against purchasing this one - you'll be essentially trowing your money away.

I'd really like to play this just for testing out CryEngine on Linux, but the DLC situation isn't really encouraging. I hope the developers can turn this around.

The game is fun as long as you have exactly 5 people to play. As far as what I was told (didn't really look at it myself) the DLC are just for 'unlocking things without having to actually play' style (so pay to win before your buds, which is freaking retarded. A lot of MMOs do this style because the logic is, some people don't have the time to play as much as others, but they have tons of money to spend apparently).
I'm pretty much with the rest of you though, it's mostly just good to see a 'AAA' game coming to Linux. The real exciting thing here is CryEngine for Linux, and Star Citizen being able to be ported because of it. (Still waiting for Elite: Dangerous to be announced for Linux...)
