The silly platformer about a mustachioed egg was released on Steam today. I've had a look at the demo and I'll tell you what I think of it.

About the game (from Steam)

Egg Returns Home is a simple platformer about an egg, which is trying to find his way back home. At every level egg needs to get to the teleport.

My thoughts

The demo consists of a number of short levels with spikes, gaps and moving platforms scrambled around them. Your task is to make it to the end by jumping to the left or right, and occasionally holding a third button for a higher jump. That's all there is in terms of controlling your protagonist, so it gets very fiddly when you just want to walk up to a ledge to prepare a jump.

You can download the demo from the developer's website, and playing a few levels should give you a good idea of what to eggspect.

I wish I could say it's an eggcellent platformer, but in all honesty, that's not my first impression. It's a novel idea though, and one that cracked me up a bit due to the sheer absurdity of it. For hard boiled platformer enthusiasts, there are better options.

If you're still eager to shell out a few bucks for this oddity, you'll find it on Steam. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
