Aspyr Media Are Teasing A New Launch Tomorrow

By -

You like new ports right? Well Aspyr Media have something up their sleeves for tomorrow, looks like we could be busy.

Posting on their facebook was this:

Hey! Do you like video games? Because we’re launching something new for our Mac and Linux users tomorrow!

Posted by Aspyr Media on Monday, 20 July 2015

Oh boy! Begin wild speculation. What do you think it will be you fine Linux gamer folk?

I'm always impressed by the quality of Aspyr ports, and I'm sure this will be no different.

I'd totally buy it.

It's highly unlikely it's going to be an AAA title, as they would probably have announced that way before the actual release. Although I hope for GTA, the chances are about 0.1% as to that happening. You never know, maybe they announce the discovery of an asteroid that's going to kill all life on earth and is only compatible with Mac and Linux. Who knows.

Borderlands 1 would be a nice surprise. :-)

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! They wrote "launch", as in release, as in finished, as in we can play it, unlike the "very soon" game from that other porting company. :P

I like games I can actually play, as opposed to games I can hypothetically play at some undetermined point in the future.

Interesting but I'll wait which plattform is chosen for this "new port". Another release only on STEAM is just a non-reaction for me. A release also on GOG would be perfect regarding "Knights of the old Republic 2". So I just can't understand why everyone is happy when something new is released only on one platform with DRM. But it's only my personal opinion - it won't help Linux in common from my point of view using a proprietary kind of nonsense like STEAM. :)

i'd buy this one 2-3 times more, although i already own it. gifting Borderlands is just making your game better since as good as Borderlands is, playing Borderlands in coop is even better. and if i support company that ports to linux, this is just pure win-win

update: sad point being it can't be BL1 (unless it would be rumoured remastered edition). Feral already released it on Mac and post says new for Mac & Linux

You probably would have missed the announcement too, being on Facebook, right? I have my fingers crossed for you that there's a GoG or Humble option, but I don't share your view. I'll buy their game on Game Agent then redeem on Steam because, well, reasons you don't care about.

Because I'm going to be that guy, it's bated breath...
Etymology
From the verb bate, alteration by aphesis of the verb abate, meaning 'to reduce' or 'lessen'.

So I hope it's GTAV but I remember a while ago they flat out said it wasn't. So in that case I have no idea but it'll be an instant buy whatever it is... come on be tomorrow already.

Edit: Popular opinion seems to be KOTR2.... Eh not my favorite but still will buy it.
