Dota 2 has now been fully reborn! The Dota 2 Reborn client is now simply Dota 2, so now everyone must use it. This brings us much better performance, new game modes and more!

I still don't recommend playing the game unless you have a full party of people you know, as the community is truly horrible.

You can see a shot of the new main menu here:

About the game (Official)
Dota is a competitive game of action and strategy, played both professionally and casually by millions of passionate fans worldwide. Players pick from a pool of over a hundred heroes, forming two teams of five players. Radiant heroes then battle their Dire counterparts to control a gorgeous fantasy landscape, waging campaigns of cunning, stealth, and outright warfare.

You can find Dota 2 on Steam. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I love this game from a technical standpoint because the graphics engine and presentation is outstanding, but the gameplay itself leaves me a bit cold. It just seems like the same thing over and over again with almost no variation from one match to the next. And why just a single map? First time I played the game, I thought, "That's cool. Now let's see what other maps there are." I was stunned when I realized that the entire game has one map. That's ridiculous.

I really can't understand why the game is so popular.

Errr....

Well have you notice the "Custom Games" tab in the Screenshot?

Dota2 Reborn now have CUSTOM maps integrated with steam servers. You look for a map, install it and then queue for a match ALL INTEGRATED.

You're just a bit outdated, at least in terms of Dota2 Reborn features.

It's popular because it is highly competitive game with an extremely high skill ceiling. While the core concept of DOTA is fairly simple, the game has an almost endless amount of nuance. The sheer amount of heroes to play, skills to learn, and items to purchase create a mind-bogglingly massive amount of different interactions between effects that can be exploited to give your team an edge and used to formulate a strategy. It's an insanely deep strategic game that also requires split second decisions and good reflexes to be played at a high level.

Overthrow Game Mode is super fun. You get 3 teams of 5 v 5 v 5 and you battle for a Team Kill Score of 45 to win.

** It kindof feels slightly like Dominion from League of Legends probably because of the giant circle arena - however instead of capturing points you collect team kills.

You can also play overthrow in smaller teams (I think 3v3v3 and 2v2v2v2?)

There's also a Cat & Mouse mode like from StarCraft 1. among many other modes and a DOTA 2 Map Editor which is pretty badass.

I think what he means is add him on steam ;) ;)

The entire concept never appealed to me either, but then again, I'm hardly ever interested in PvP. The only reason I follow this game is for Vulkan.

I wonder how this game with play with the steam controller and if it will give people a competitive edge, hindrance, or be just the same.
