You guys love Insurgency right, the awesome FPS game that came to Linux last year? Well Insurgency: Sandstorm is coming with some Unreal Engine 4 goodness, and Linux is confirmed.
QuoteParis, France – Today our new publishing partner, Focus Home Interactive, has revealed an exciting new project we are developing – Insurgency: Sandstorm – available for PS4, Xbox One, Windows, OS X, and Linux in 2017.
Since it's being made for consoles as well, we can expect much nicer gamepad support for the game.
QuoteIn addition to console support, Insurgency: Sandstorm will contain some exciting new features such as a new story mode and eSports framework. The game is being built from the ground up with competitive multiplayer, console split-screen, and singleplayer in mind. The story mode will focus on a squad of characters as they face increasingly challenging chapters, from the invasion of Iraq in 2003 through the insurrection period and leading to the present day.
I am looking forward to seeing the new Story mode it will have. Having a realistic FPS on Linux that has a singleplayer campaign as well as multiplayer? It's what I have bee dreaming of (Homefront: The Revolution is out this year, so it beats it).
Sounds like it will have an online beta before the game hits a final release too.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Does it have local Co-Op or local Multiplayer? I've recently put my rig in the living room and I need a hell of a game -In terms of good graphics as they don't like pixel art or old games- to play with my mates.

Me too, albeit I have to admit that my initial enthusiasm has worn off already and the game usually gets boring pretty quickly now. Also, the fact that Sandstorm aims for consoles makes me pretty sceptical.
But let's see if they will manage to really improve the game or if Sandstorm will merely be a graphical update.

I agree that we don't have enough split screen games for a system which tries to compete with consoles.
I'd buy this new Insurgency with pleasure when it's out. Good graphics and a story mode should skyrocket this game to "must buy" status.
