Children of Morta is a discovery I'm really happy about, as the animation and art style is just simply amazing. It has some of the most slick pixel animations and art I've seen in quite some time.
The game was actually funded by Kickstarter last year, so it's pleasing to see such an awesome looking game progressing well.
About the game
Children of Mortas is a narrative-based roguelike hack’n slash game for PC, Mac and Linux which will involve you in the adventures of a family.
Since the corruption of the god of Mount Morta, his rage and anger has turned all the creatures into sick, furious monsters. The Bergson family, guardians of Mount Morta, live in their house at the mountain side. They try to reach the peak of the cursed mountain to find out what happened to its god and how they can change his doomed fate!
You can pre-order for $14.99 right now.

The pixel art for the character sprites won't lend itself very well to static screenshots, but the animation looks really well done. Looks like another title I'll pick up eventually.

I'm a backer of the Kickstarter campaign and I'm very excited about it. We actually covered it in The Funding Crowd #41. ;)
