The Challenge [Steam, Official Site] is a brand new Early Access adventure game powered by the Unreal Engine where you're tasked with protecting time. It has nice graphics, but boy is it rough.

I've left a bunch of feedback for the developer, but right now the text is really quite poor. It's supposed to have been written by "a professional writer of science fiction" (as they say), and it seems like English isn't their first language, as there's just so many errors staring me in the face.

The text in general isn't just a mess in terms of grammar, and I realise as I type this mine is generally quite iffy, but this is a game you have to pay for, so as it progresses through Early Access I would expect a big cleanup.

I didn't get very far, as there's quite a bit of text to get through, and it became quite painful to read. Not only that, but the movement is quite slow to go from room to room to get through the initial text before you see any actual gameplay.

Overall, it's one I'm patiently going to be keeping an eye on. I love the graphical style, I love the entire idea of the story. It just needs a fair bit of love right now.

Will check on it again after a few updates. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Well what about the gameplay? Is it a walking simulator like Gone Home or a puzzler like The Talos Principle?

Well... The writer might be professional but nobody said anything about the writer being experienced.

"Professional" is just a marketing term for: we hired someone. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the job done. It's only supposed to raise an assumption they wouldn't hire a freshmen from another country... Which is false. They totally can.

And, the writer might be professional -- in his native tongue, Russian.
