Aspyr Media have confirmed that the Linux version of Civilization VI will not be confirmed for this year, as they are still looking into the 'feasibility' of the Linux port.
This dashes my own personal hope of some kind of confirmation at least before the year is up.
Bad news: No #CivVI winter patch or cross platform and no news on feasibility of CivVI #Linux until after the holidays. No #KOTORII news. pic.twitter.com/vhgwo44hKf

It's good that they're keeping us informed and I have to hand it to them for repeatedly talking about it. Too many other developers fall silent, but it's clear it's still firmly in their minds to keep mentioning it.
Hopefully it will be a surprise release early next year, but I don't want to get your hopes up so don't hold out for it.
Unless I'm seriously missing something here: Replace APIs -> Link middleware and dependencies -> Compile -> Build -> Debug -> Optimize. Issues with middlemare on Linux would have been an issue with middleware on Mac which it wasn't so then no issues there. Any issues on a code level especially with the engine itself would have been detected and sorted out when porting to Mac. So once again no issues there.
All I know is that if this was in the hands of Feral, we'd probably be playing it already.
Quoting: Sgt.Romeo9I mean come on it doesn't take two months to determine the feasability of a port, it takes two months to make the port.
Or maybe they run into a serious bug/optimisation but instead of giving up easily they try hard to see if they can solve the problem. What doesn't make sens is why Firaxys did not develop the title with portability in mind. If some devs come to see this, it is much easier to take the port into account during the whole devepement than after the release of the Windows version.
QuoteThe criminal underworld of Mafia III is coming soon to Mac! Travel back to 1968 and explore the large open world of New Bordeaux as Lincoln Clay. When his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible.
No mention of Linux. Could very well be that Linux is just not priority for them any more.
