The amazing looking cyberpunk horror game 'Observer' [Steam, Official Site] has sadly seen a delay for Linux, but it may arrive in October.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader, the publisher Aspyr Media commented on reddit with this:
observer_ is ABSOLUTELY coming to Linux! We had a date we needed to hit, and unfortunately couldnt get linux done within that timeframe. We are working hard towards a late Oct date, but definitely this year.
It's a shame the Linux version didn't make the original cut, but it's pleasing to know Aspyr Media are still pushing forward with Linux versions of games they publish.
Observer does look incredible and it has been reviewed very well on Steam and plenty of other sites have given it their blessing too.
About the game:
What would you do if your fears were hacked? >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game from Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear. Discover a dark cyberpunk world beset by plagues, war and squalor. Play as the new front line of neural police as you hack into the jagged minds of the insane.
It's a shame the Linux version didn't make the original cut, ...
Neither did the macos version. Which, considering Aspyr was a mac publisher, must have been a tough one.
They're not a mac publisher though, they used to be. Then they got into porting and publishing Linux games and now they're a porter/publisher.It's a shame the Linux version didn't make the original cut, ...

Take a look at how they describe themselves now ;):
We started by finding the world’s biggest PC games and bringing them to Mac. Today, we find the best indie games and bring them to you, wherever you may play.
They're not a mac publisher though, they used to be.
I did say "was". :P They obviously haven't been one since they started porting games to Linux.
Patiently awaiting this one!

Aspyr have been diversifying their market a bit, trying various things. Business-wise this is maybe smart, but this does seem to mean their AAA Linux/Mac ports are way less prolific than Feral, and I'm a bit worried that we won't be getting future ports of e.g. Borderlands 3 as a result. Might require another cookie bomb.Well, if Aspyr don't, in the end Feral would likely be happy at the chance to port it.
I'm sure to get it when the Linux version is released.Yes, here too, although I guess this one is way too scary for me ;)
No Tux == No Bucks. Any speculation is pointless; we saw countless times that bait and switch tactic.
Besides, not a day-1 release => not a full price purchise.
That's my opinion, anyway.
