Deep breaths commander, there's a new UFO sighting on the Feral Interactive port radar indicating a new Linux port is on the way.
Here's the new teaser:
Begin your wild guessing game. I literally don't have a clue, but then I never manage to guess them correctly. Although, honestly I try not to dig too far as when I do I end up thinking about all sorts of wild titles.
We've still got Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia yet to come from Feral, so another showing up is quite exciting news. They've ported so many top quality games to Linux now, it's really quite incredible and it's pleasing to see this continue!

Quoting: MohandevirThin as paper, but still funny:I am almost certain it is Shadow of War, several pages back I posted a youtube clip from Shadow of War of Balrog spawning from lava. Plus Sauron is in this game. Also, someone here mentioned Lucifer meaning "Light Bearer" in latin and Calimbrimbor is also the Bright Lord. I have really been looking forward to this game.

Paradise lost is like saying there's a knife in the game... Vague as possible. Good job Feral this one is really hard!
Shadow of War confirmed? Lol!

Quoting: m0nt3If that's the case, insta-buy for me. It just had the final update to remove lootboxes and add content. It seems like the perfect time for a Linux port:Quoting: MohandevirThin as paper, but still funny:I am almost certain it is Shadow of War, several pages back I posted a youtube clip from Shadow of War of Balrog spawning from lava. Edit: It would be a great relief if it is Shadow of War. I was beginning to fear that WB had abandonned Linux... Obviously it must be easier for Feral to work with a final build than a still evolving game.

You grind for a week to level up your orks.
Some schmuck buys lootcrates for 20$ and gets high level orks.
His orks win , yours are dead for good. Have fun grinding more.
(that's at least how i understood it)

Quoting: m0nt3I can guarantee it's going to be Shadow of War. You know why? Because I gave up on waiting for it and started playing it under Windows... This happens EVERY time with Feral's games (except Rise of the Tomb Raider, which I had already gotten, but waited until it was on Linux to play.Quoting: MohandevirThin as paper, but still funny:I am almost certain it is Shadow of War, several pages back I posted a youtube clip from Shadow of War of Balrog spawning from lava. So it's either Shadow of War or Hellblade.
I reaaaaaly want it to be Hellblade, but since it is an indie title which is now under M$, Shadow of War is much more likely. Especially since the first one has already been ported by Feral so they have the groundwork.
Oh well. Maybe I will buy it on sale, I don't have much interest in playing that game.

Quoting: m0nt3I probably would have done so already if it weren't for VR. That and the plethora of games I already own, that I don't feel like mucking around with Wine for. Older games do seem to work better under Wine than Win10 though. Warwind 2 for example seems to work great under Wine. It's so old, I'm betting it won't work under Windows 10, haven't tried it though.Quoting: slaapliedjeI solved this problem by removing windows from all my home computers. Quoting: razing32Ha, I knew a guy (well he used to be a friend until he went all nuts..) that made the comment specifically about that game that SSI didn't know how to make good strategy games. I grew up with SSI games. They used to make some of the best strategy games, I think the Warwind games were their first attempt at RTS though. Warwind 2 was one of those games that randomly performed badly on some systems.Quoting: slaapliedjeI thought I was the only one who enjoed the War Wind series.Quoting: m0nt3I probably would have done so already if it weren't for VR. Quoting: GuestLooks like it's Total War: Warhammer 2. Honestly, I have no idea how that relates to the given tip. I was really hoping it was Hellblade, but oh well.So they laboured mightily and brought forth a mouse, eh?
I'm sure it's a great game for folks into that stuff, and a lot of people are excited over it. But I was honestly hoping it'd be something a bit different from the same series they've been putting out for ages. I'd love to see them do a game like Hellblade or Dark Souls Remastered or something else that broadens the Linux canon. But alas.

Yeah, I bought the Warhammer games out of loyalty, but absolutely zero interest in Total War games. They must be popular/sell well, though, given that Feral have been pretty loyal to them.
I'll stick to the big AAA single-player games they churn out, like the Tomb Raiders, Life is Strange, Hitman and Deus Ex. Goddam, it's so good to have stuff like that on Linux.
Sometimes it just hits me too. "THESE GAMES ARE ON LINUX". I mean... LINUX?? Holy crap! Remember just five years ago, we were excited about a new Humble Bundle that had a Limbo port! Look where we are now!! Incredible.

I personally love the games but i get they are not to everyones taste, some people find them to slow paced and thsts fine. Yeah i have complained there are not enough triple a games this year but yeah compare now to seven years ago without steam and people were excited when a new dark places engine game dropped.

I played a bit of the first one. Wish I had more time for large scale strategy games, but they do seem to suck up the hours!

Life is Strange 2 is being developed, episode 1 is due September 27th. no idea when/if it'll appear on Linux but chances are good going on past experience. :D

They said probably not due to a middleware issue (which fortunately got sorted out in the end) but for following games they'd definitely be paying more attention to that.
So if they still think that way therre's a very good chance we'll get it.
