TaleWorlds Entertainment are continuing to support Mount & Blade: Warband, with a new beta that offers up 64bit support for Linux. Quite some time ago, our contributor Samsai said it was "an awesome RPG".
It seems the current version has been causing Linux gamers some hassle for a while, with it simply not working on some newer distributions. Rather than drop support, they're making steps to improve their Linux build. This is how support should be done, hats off to TaleWorlds for doing the right thing for us.
To access it, you need to go into the properties for the game on Steam, hit the Beta tab and enter in the password "betapassword" to have it appear. Once you opt in, a new download should commence for it.
In preparation for future updates to macOS and Linux distributions, we have made 64-bit versions of Mount & Blade: Warband available on these platforms. The builds are currently in an open beta testing phase, which players are encouraged to download and test […].
Providing everything goes to plan, we will be pushing this build out to all users after the testing phase to replace the 32-bit version that is currently available
If you have issues, they've asked you go through their official support channels.
Want a copy? It's currently 60% off on Humble Store or you can find it on Steam.
Quoting: SkipperroNice, maybe it will stop to crash because of RAM limitation. :)That seems to be the case.
I think I've mentioned my old save that would crash the game about 20 seconds after loading no matter what I did. I haven't had a proper chance to test it thoroughly, but it certainly doesn't do that any more, and the tell-tale graphical glitches that used to be a sign of an impending crash are gone too.
Oh, and the configurator program works now. You can download Steam Workshop mods and actually use them.

Nice! I hadn't played the game in quite a long tine, that used to work when it was first released. It wasn't until I read a comment before this post that had said it was badly broken. Gonna have to play this more. I founf it really hard, tried playing it with a mod but that made it too easy... needs to be right in the middle.
Conan Exiles kind of reminds me of this game, though it doesn't have the towns and random missions like you get in Mount and Blade.
See more from me
