Geneshift, the GTA-inspired Battle Royale that also has an extra purchased for a campaign mode and more is currently free for 48 hours.

The developer gave us a heads-up about it on Twitter recently, where they clarified that Geneshift (at least the Battle Royale mode) will eventually go free to play. This giveaway, is so that they can stress-test their servers and get more of a community going before that happens. If you enjoy it, the Complete Edition is also 30% off which includes the full solo and co-op campaign, five additional online game modes and few other extras.

The action is intense, rounds don't take long and the vehicles add a rather amusing aspect to it. It's very different to other Battle Royale games out there. For those who want to try a fun online game, without a lot of waiting around this is absolutely a game you have to try.

Check out Geneshift on Steam now free.

If you're looking for people to play with, you can join one of our various communities like IRC, Discord, Telegram and so on (see more in our footer).

Unless i've missed something, it's more a big demo than a free game.

No campaign, many unlocks are locked, and first button before playing is "go buy the complete edition".

Fair enough, but a demo's nice. :)
