Valve may be gearing up for an interesting few years, as it seems Erik Wolpaw who helped write Portal, Half-Life: 2 episodes and more is now back at Valve.

The tip comes from ValveNewsNetwork and I've certainly got no reason to think it's not true as McVicker does some pretty decent Valve coverage on YouTube. On top of that, Wolpaw is actually listed in the credits for Artifact (see here).

We know that Valve do have multiple titles in the works at the moment, so bringing in more people isn't exactly surprising. They recently released Artifact, In the Valley of Gods is coming since Campo Santo joined Valve and they have others they say are "top secret".

It will be interesting to see what they're doing especially since Valve is possibly making a VR Half-Life game. It's certainly going to be a fun year.

I just want to see a new Left 4 Dead game, is it too much to ask?

As always, I've reached out to Valve to confirm it too just to be sure.

I don't think that there will ever be a HL3 since it would to stand out from all other games in such a fashion that I don't think games can do any more (unless Death Stranding really will be a revolution) that it will get green lit by Gabe. Remember that any attempt to release HL3 now regardless of story (and I don't fancy the epistle 3 story very much) will just be another FPS and that is not what any one wants even though people some times claims that.

I'm sure Half-Life 3 will be a card game.

My guess is they're working on L4D3 with VR, and possibly portal 3 with VR.
We know they want to do stuff with VR, and those games would just be too perfect for them to not do it (especially L4D).
If there's any games Valve has in its arsenal which could be given a VR version and make everyone have to seriously stop and consider buying a VR headset it would be L4D and Portal in my opinion.
(Also HL3 would do the trick too of course, but I've given up hope on that).

Something I'm curious about is if In the Valley of Gods will be ok Source 2 or Unity seeing as Unity was used for Firewatch.
Calm down!
I think We, the gamers, are giving over reacted credit to the Half Life or Portal franchises.
They were (and they are) entertaining games, with a good background story and a good gameplay, being Portal much more innovative than HalfLife, because it wasn't a killkillkill game.

The only reason why this super ultra hype for HL3 exist is just because the previous game ended with a cliffhanger, a "to be continued", like a TV series..
(I don't know You, but when I watch a Tv series or a movie trilogy, I prefer to do it in a "marathon" way)

HL3 and Portal 3 will come, yeah, but don't expect master pieces of the videogame art..
Don't expect a "before and after" in the story of the videogames.. Don't expect a cultural revolution.. Don't expect a change in the humankind....
Just expect very entertaining games with exactly the same mute floating lens and the same playability, but with better graphics.
