Valve has finally fixed the issue in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Danger Zone crashing for Linux gamers.

First reported to Valve on GitHub back in early December last year, Danger Zone would often crash on deployment. There was a workaround to set Shader Detail to Medium, which for me did completely prevent the crash happening but for others it did not.

Valve put out a fix recently, including these adjustments:

– Fixed the ‘radar spotting enemies through smoke’ mechanic to behave the same regardless of the game server tickrate, and to not reveal enemies on the opposite side of the smoke until the smoke effect dissipates.
– Increased size of rendering queues for OSX and Linux game clients to address crashes when playing Danger Zone.

Early reports indicate it has in fact fixed the issue, so hopefully now plenty more Linux gamers can enjoy this newer Battle Royale game mode on Linux.

I've had a ridiculous amount of fun with Danger Zone, with it quickly becoming one of my most played games. It's exactly what I needed, although I do hope they continue adding more to it.

As always, you can find CS:GO on Steam.

Has anyone else struggled to find a match recently? It's likely down to me playing DUOs but we're talking 10+ minutes of waiting before my brother and I gave up. It's been like this for a few days. I'll try again tonight.

It really depends on what time you play. If I play during the day time of EDT I typically have a hard time finding duo or triple player teams. Later in the day after 6pm I seem to find matches fairly fast.

Right, I should have mentioned time zone on an international Website. I am also EDT and am usually unable to find matches ~7:30PM or so. Last night we found one in thirty minutes of total searching. ONE. I don't want to sit around waiting for a match all night so once again we gave up and played Apex since it runs via dxvk/wine currently.
