According to the information on it, Hegemone Pass is a stealth RPG (they say JRPG, but they're actually French). It's set in the Greek Underworld, with combat and exploration mixed in with an alert system

Follow the story of the goddess Persephone, the Queen of the Underworld… who got her title has been stolen by her very mother, Demeter! With the Underworld being ruled by her mother, Persephone must now survive against her very own citizens who are hunting her down, and retrieve her title and rulership of the Underworld.

I like the sound of this alert system, as if you get spotted they don't just chase you, they will actually sound the alarm and end up calling in some reinforcements and any neighbouring enemies will jump in to help them against you. If there's a lot of them, you might end up facing off against an additional wave of enemies.

Actual combat is turn-based with a timeline to show when someone will be available, although you can mess with this. Some attacks will allow you to push people back which would be handy if you're running low of health.

They're hoping to get €16K, with the campaign set to end of June 10th. They've had a bit of a slow start, looks like it might struggle a bit as they've not even managed to gather €400 yet.

What's nice about this one, is that they do have a demo available and there's a Linux version of the demo too which you can find here. Head over to the Kickstarter here if it sounds like your thing.

"Hegemone Pass, a 2D stealth RPG that might or might not support Linux is on Kickstarter"

Fixed it for you. Don't trust a game to be on Linux, unless it's on Linux. Particularly not a Kickstarter campaign.

We have been let down so many times in the past, but this time there's a Linux version of the demo. It does not seem like empty promises this time around.

Are you going to start doing this on all crowdfunding posts, because it's being pretty pedantic. This one even has a Linux demo and out of 155 listed on this page only 17 failed to deliver (and the list is outdated, a number more have delivered since).

If you're going to be like that, you might as well also comment such a thing on any upcoming Linux game.

I guess I might be a tad bitter after ALL my last three Kickstarter pledges either failed or released with a substantial delay after the Windows version (which I consider a fail, too). And while Bards Tale IV is correctly listed as a fail, the two others (Battletech and Underworld Ascendant) are even missing from your list, so the problem is a bit bigger than your list suggests. Battletech did release...something...after a small eternity, but if I am not totally mistaken, it's still officially a beta version. Underworld quietly removed the SteamOS icon from the Steam page eventually, but they certainly promised it during their campaign.

For crowdfunding though, really you should go into it knowing that you're not really funding the game. You're helping to fund the person or the studio and it just doesn't always work out.

I did say the list wasn't entirely up to date, but again, plenty have delivered.

Battletech's status means nothing, it's advertised and supported and playable. Underworld is in testing too currently and Bards Tale IV is still supposedly coming.

Edit: Further to this, Underworld sent out an update today BTW:
QuoteMuch like our last couple of weeks, the internal priority is still on our console port, such as optimizing AI and adding in our Update 4 content so it properly propagates across PC / Mac / Linux / Console. (Note that we are handling PC and Console work in house, and an external contractor is working with us to port to Mac and Linux alongside us.)
So it's quite interesting, that the Linux release of Underworld, while late sure, is being given dedicated time and attention :)

While crowdfunding is indeed more or less a venture capital form of investment people need to know that it might or might not pay off, I disagree with the statement that the money I give them isn't funding the project. Crowdfunding isn't a donation that's given without expecting a return, it's contributing funds towards completion of a -specific- project. And if they take our money, we certainly have a right to expect whoever took it to keep their promises to the best of their abilities. Sure, these projects might fail for legit and unforeseen reasons, the same way start-ups often do. That's ok. But when somebody promises Linux support, makes people commit money to this project based on that promise, goes "Sorry, but we changed our mind, because we decided to work on more important platforms" or "Eh, we used Windows middleware because we felt like it, so we can't port the thing anymore", that's neither legit nor unforeseeable. It's willingly and knowingly breaking a promise they gave somebody when taking their money. In other words, fraud. And it happens quite frequently, hence me making my initial comment in the first place.

Underworld released on Nov 15, 2018 according to the mail I got when they sent me the key. It's May 15, 2019, with no Linux release date in sight. Maybe it's just me, but I consider that a failure to deliver what they promised. We're living in a world where a year-old game is considered old, and I didn't fund a project to deliver me an old game. Same goes for Battletech.

I think I want to buy this just because they have good taste in music. I've always said Holst's "Mars" would make awesome game music, although I was thinking more space combat.
