3D Buzz was an online learning platform about programming, game development and animation that originally was released on 2002 (Wayback Machine link here).

Although most of the courses were paid, a couple of weeks ago the site had to shut down, following the ramifications of one of its founders' tragic death by cancer in 2017 (memorial and portfolio page); however, they decided to release absolutely all the content (about 200 GB of videos) for free to download, out of appreciation for all the community's support across the years.

This is their final statement, which can still be read on the URL that originally hosted the website:

Hello everyone,

The 3D Buzz community has been amazing and inspirational for 2 decades. However, all good things...

3D Buzz, Inc has closed its doors. Subscription and recurring payments have already been suspended. This page is our final gift to such a wonderful community. Below you will find download links to all of our available material, free of charge.

Thank you for so many years of support. You are all, truly, the best community anyone could hope for. May we see each other again somewhere in the ether...

From all of us to all of you,

Remember to always look, listen, and learn.

Goodbye, good health, and good luck.

After that message, you will find a torrent to download the content and a long list of all their former available catalogue, ordered alphabetically.

Of course, not necessarily all the courses will be related to Linux, and there is certainly a chance that some of the contents are already outdated, but still you might be able to find something interesting or useful, even more if you can't afford to spend too much money right now.

In my personal case, I didn't check any course due to lack of time, so I can't tell you about their general quality, but if you want to get a glimpse, they have a YouTube account with dozens of old videos to see if their style of teaching suits you.

This unfortunate event shows another facet of such an horrific disease; sometimes it's not only about the extreme torment of the affected person and the psychological devastation that causes on relatives and friends, but also the catastrophic financial consequences that worsen an already grisly situation. However, an excellent gesture like this at least helps to keep the person's legacy alive, and opens the slight possibility that somebody uses this (now free) content to release a masterpiece in a couple of years. One can only hope...

Cool, I have been wanting to learn C (and then C++), and after that Unity. I got the drive space, so I'll start downloading the videos soon.

Wow, that's very nice of them.
At least a couple of the tools referenced are also supported on Linux. So time to hopefully get new / additional insights. Well, after the downloads done, this thing truly is huge :O ... And this Lunar New Year Sale is already massively blocking my download queue... So this will take a while before it can be enjoyed....
