It's been quite some time since we last had an open discussion about what you've all been playing recently. Let's get things going again.
We've almost finished the second month of 2020, we've had tons of Linux games that have released this year already and a huge amount more on the way. Now with the rise of game streaming, Steam Play Proton and more options appearing constantly there's never a shortage of gaming to be had.
Personally, I've been getting back into the deck-builder Faeria (Humble/Steam).
With the big recent patch, it gave me a new reason to pick it up and I had honestly forgotten just how good the gameplay is. Building the board as you go really does spice up the usual turn-based tactics, as does the single-player content that's quite plentiful. Gamepad support that was recently added has also made it more accessible than ever. Crafting a good deck of cards is always the hard part but Faeria is fun to learn.
So, over to you: what have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?
I also played a bit of The Surge, but unlike almost everybody else, the game keeps crashing. Enjoyed what I saw though and will keep returning to this with updated drivers or OS or new Proton versions.
Had some friends proclaim CHAOS REBORN! and FOR THE KING! while having a jolly good time.
Had a few hours in DARKSIDERS 2 and still have to decide whether I love or it bores me to death.
Played through to the full ending of Later Alligator. The gameplay loop and puzzles weren't much to write home about but the animation and short story were amusing enough for me.
I've had some friends trying to drag me back into FFXIV. It still works well and now the new launcher even almost works for me. Progress.
Really, work has been keeping me busy/worn out lately so aside from those and the occasional TF2 match I've been pretty light on gaming. I have Kentucky Route Zero waiting since the final part came out and hopefully after this month things will slow down enough to get to it properly.

It is annoying that the Linux updates never made their way to GOG.com as of yet and Postal Redux is still missing in action from there. They say the team is all tied up with Postal 4, which I can understand, but at the same time I do wish they would finish what they started. Releasing the source code to Postal Plus still earns them plaudits though.

I have been bouncing back and forth between Urban Terror and Deponia. I bought all of the Deponia games years ago for a few bucks each, and just started going through my backlog.
Urban Terror on the other hand, is always installed and ready to go at a moments notice. I'm quite excited for the next release and hope it happens in 2020.
Wow Urban Terror, I played so much of this game in the past. I lost interest when they did the major rework, took forever. Is it back to being as good as it was before?
The game stutter a lot, but I understand that problem is present on Windows too..
It's enjoyable. Comes fairly close to scratching that Fire Emblem itch. The humor is... cute. At least chuckle worthy and not distracting.
I also tried Deep Sky Derelicts this weekend and hated it. Couldn't even make it a full half hour in before I got bored with the repetitive combat.

I have been stuck on level 24 for a week, because in 25 years of Worms my skills with the ninja rope have not improved one bit.
Works flawlessly . Only had the graphics bug out once.
The game can be be described as a single player MMO.
Finished one of the DLCs today and that last boss made me swear so loud i think neighbours three floors down heard me.
Next on my list: Life is Strange BTS and 2.

Next in my playlist are either Slay the Spire with the new character, Dead Cells with the Bad Seed DLC, or Wizard of Legend with the new Lightning boss.
And of course, next session with friends will be with Unrailed!
Oh, and I have to do a third run on Elex too, and probably a 2nd run on Greedfall... Decisions, decisions :P

I didn't know it has a "full" ending. Wonder of that motivates me to play the rest of the stuff...
Also replaying TNT Evilution addon for Doom II on high difficulty with GZDoom. Nostalgia.

All it needs for that is gathering all the family (aka winning all the mini games), no need for collecting all the puzzle pieces. Of course you could always skip another playthrough and watch it up online.

Any advice on finding active servers/times? After a 4-5 years break i recently installed it again, and found the servers dead by comparison. I'm quite excited for the new game too, but i kind of don't believe they make the new release anytime soon, due to the weird development model they are using, where even as they are making a free game and a for profit one they do not open their project up.
The one area where I am disappointed is stability. The game doesn't have any issues while on track, but it likes to crash once a session is complete. So far it did do its autosave in time, so it was only a minor nuisance, but today of all days I lost half an hour of excellent racing :-(. (I redid it and came out even one position higher, but it just wasn't the same). Not sure if the game is to blame, though; might also be the graphics driver, as it's always a Vulkan error that comes up.
Anyway, now that I am hooked, I'd absolutely buy a newer release, if Feral ever decided to make another port. Maybe F1 2020 ... ? :).
