What looks to be a HD remaster done rather well, the 1991 title Crystal Caves got remaster with Crystal Caves HD back in October and it's now supported on Linux. I've no doubt many of our older readers will have fond memories of this one, it is something of a true classic.

Speaking about the modernizing of the game they said that a "true remastering of a classic game must mean preserving everything that made the original game challenging, fun and addictive, well we did this and more with Crystal Caves by incorporating a new vibrant color pallet to the not only the gameplay action but the storyboard elements as well".

What a surprise. Here we go again. How can it be such an impossible task to test the product for EVEN just launching?

Devs generally don't install from the "store" package because they have one that was accessible before release. Their install would have the appropriate depots added, but that doesn't mean that the store version has the same (or the one for key activations which is different again). The Steam backend should be checking that the executable from the configuration is actually available and produce a warning, but it obviously doesn't. So it's up to the devs to manually verify that everything is alright and apparently it's not entirely clear because this happens way too often.

I have replied to the Steam post to advise both you and the developer on it.

Also what Ehvis said, it's so common and often confusing I wrote about article about the missing executable issue.

ok this is a pop os issue because i installed manjaro and the game installs just fine.could be a runtime issue with pop os's version of steam.

And then there is this issue? Many people in the community spread the info that the choice of distro does not matter... Phew.

I wonder does it work on Ubuntu, which would be the most important one to work on i suppose. Any AAA-game or this one.

It was tested on Ubuntu so it should work Please note that Linux depot was added to all packages at the start even though SteamDB is not showing that.

Just downloaded and installed the game and it launched on my system with no issue. Only completed one level so far but it's great fun :-)

Linux installer on GOG has been added

It still says it's only available for Microsoft Windows-based operating systems for me...
