It's Sunday, a time for coffee, a sit in the sun and perhaps a little gaming? Time for a small round-up of some missed bits we wanted to go over recently.

First up CrossCode has received its final update, as Radical Fish Games add in some extra content to the A New Home DLC including some new quests and other things to do. This really is the final update too, finishing off the 9-year long overall development cycle on the game. They've also confirmed no plans for a sequel but a new game is in progress code-named Project Terra, which will be an action-RPG. You can buy CrossCode on GOG and Steam.

Are you a game developer looking to use purchased marketplace assets from the Epic Games Store on Linux? Well, as usual Epic Games don't officially support Linux but for grabbing your assets there's now the open source Epic-Asset-Manager found on GitHub. Could be useful for some of you. Also to note that the Heroic Games Launcher found on GitHub appears to be able getting support for the Unreal Marketplace with the next version with code that's been merged in.

Have you heard of Brickadia? It appears to be another attempt to bring out something a bit like Minecraft, Robolox, LEGO and other similar building games. Quite promising and they already support Linux with it in their early stages, so one to keep an eye on. See more on the official site.

Waiting for even more retro-inspired first-person shooter goodness? Might be some great news on the horizon as Prodeus appears to be getting closer to an actual Linux build. On their Discord, one of their team mentioned how they "updated the Linux tool chain so Linux builds started working, more news on that later". Prodeus is currently on GOG and Steam.

Ready for your next laptop / notebook? Star Labs have begun teasing their Mk V StarBook, and it sounds like a nice unit:

Need a new free (or PWYW) game to play and love roguelikes? Check out Labyrinth of Legendary Loot available on itch.io built with the awesome open source LÖVE framework. In LoLL, you are what you wear - quite literally, as your abilities are based entirely on what you've got equipped.

In FSF / GNU news, it seems the GNU is being split. The GNU Assembly has been announced, full of ~30 contributors of existing GNU projects. Starting from an idea proposed 10 years ago, they've finally gone and done it. The basic idea is to have a place for them all to work together, to act collectively with clear rules and guidelines to follow. More on their official site.

Brickadia demands I register with them via discord, so far so good, but also wants me to give discord my phone number to be able to put anything into their registration channel.

The Answer is NO to this violation of privacy. Because this is what will happen: https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2021/04/05/facebook-hack-breach-personal-data/9031617634745/ -- This breach was due to somebody _enumerating_ all phone numbers and trying them. Which would of course have been impossible with more random identifiers such as email addresses. But basically, you don't want any web platform to have your phone number.
